Natural Growth Factors

Platelet-Rich-Fibrin (PRF)

Platelet-rich-fibrin (PRF) is a next-generation evolution of platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) and is considered a form of regenerative medicine.

PRF is derived from your own blood and processed to concentrate platelets, fibrin, white blood cells, and regenerative cells like leukocytes and mesenchymal stem cells. This powerful combination supports wound healing, stimulates collagen production, and improves skin elasticity in a natural, biologically driven way.
Using advanced blood processing techniques, PRF forms a complex fibrin matrix that allows growth factors to be released slowly over time. This gradual release supports longer-lasting skin regeneration compared to traditional PRP, making PRF an ideal option for patients seeking subtle, progressive improvement in skin quality and texture.

Treatment Areas

PRF is commonly used in areas of the face that show early signs of aging or require regenerative support, including:
Cheeks (mid-cheek support and contour)
Full facial rejuvenation
Perioral rejuvenation
Tear troughs (under eyes)
Temples
PRF is also known to support wound healing and can be used as part of a treatment plan for acne scarring and overall skin repair.

Treatment plans are always individualized. For optimal results, a series of treatments is typically recommended, with many patients benefiting from three sessions spaced appropriately over time.

What to Expect

Your Nurse Injector will begin by reviewing your areas of concern and confirming a treatment plan tailored to your skin quality, anatomy, and desired outcome.

We offer both PRF injections and MesoPRF, allowing treatment to be customized based on skin needs and treatment goals.

Before treatment, the skin is thoroughly cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied for comfort. A small blood draw is then performed, typically requiring two vials. The blood is processed using a specialized centrifuge and temperature-controlled protocol to isolate a high quality platelet-rich-fibrin concentrate.

PRF Injections

For PRF injections, the prepared fibrin matrix is placed beneath the skin in targeted areas. This allows growth factors and regenerative cells to work from the inside out, supporting collagen production, tissue repair, and gradual improvement in skin quality.

PRF Microneedling

PRF Microneedling combines the collagen-stimulating benefits of microneedling with the regenerative power of platelet-rich-fibrin.

After your PRF is prepared, it is applied to the skin and infused through controlled microchannels created during the microneedling treatment. This allows growth factors and regenerative cells to penetrate deeply into the skin, enhancing healing, improving skin quality, and supporting collagen production.

Results & Longevity

PRF is typically performed as a series of treatments to achieve optimal results. Sessions are most often scheduled 4-6 weeks apart, with many patients benefitting from three to four treatments. Some individuals may require fewer sessions, while others may need additional treatments depending on skin response and goals.

Maintenance treatments are commonly recommended every 6-12 months, or as needed, to support ongoing skin regeneration.

Because PRF is derived entirely from your own blood, results vary from person to person. Following treatment, there is a sustained release of growth factors and signaling proteins over approximately 10-12 days, supporting tissue healing, collagen production, and regenerative processes.

Treatment response and longevity depend on multiple factors, including overall health, blood quality, lifestyle habits, metabolism, genetics, stress levels, and the timing between treatments. Many patients experience results lasting 12-18 months, with gradual, natural improvement over time.

Platelet-Rich-Fibrin (PRF) FAQ

Yes. Platelet-rich-fibrin (PRF) is considered a safe treatment because it uses your own blood. The regenerative components are reintroduced into the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production naturally.

Because PRF is autologous, meaning it comes from your own body, the risk of allergic reaction is extremely low. Your intake forms and consultation appointment ensure you are an appropriate candidate prior to treatment.

Side effects are typically minimal and temporary. Some patients experience mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or pinpoint bruising at the treatment sites, which often resolves within hours to a few days.

Mild post-treatment discomfort is normal and can be managed with ice and Tylenol if needed.

PRF is suitable for adults over the age of 18 who are looking to improve skin quality, fine lines, elasticity, and overall glow.

It can be used as a standalone regenerative treatment or as a complementary therapy alongside injectables, skincare, or laser treatments. Think of PRF as a supportive treatment or insurance policy to your skincare, Botox, filler, and other treatments that enhance the skin’s ability to repair and regenerate.

There is no “too early” or “too late” to begin. Your Nurse Injector will guide you based on your skin goals and needs and explain how treatment can help any patient at any stage of life!

PRF treatments are generally well tolerated. Topical numbing is applied prior to treatment, and additional comfort measures can be discussed if needed.

The blood draw is performed using a very fine needle and typically involves only a few vials. PRF administration is done with a needle or cannula and feels similar to dermal filler placement.

Downtime is minimal. Some patients return to work the same day. Ice and Tylenol may be used afterward to reduce swelling or discomfort.

PRF treatments are $800 per session. For optimal results, a series of treatments is often recommended. We offer package pricing of three treatments for $2,250, which includes a $150 savings.

All PRF treatments are performed by Registered Nurse Injectors with advanced training in facial anatomy and facial balancing techniques, including with the use of PRF. Our team has extensive hands-on experience and works under the direction of our Owner and Advanced Nurse Injector, alongside our Medical Director. Before and after portfolios are available for reference.

There is minimal preparation required prior to PRF. We recommend:

  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Staying well hydrated
  • Eating prior to your appointment

Avoiding alcohol and limiting caffeine (yes, you can still have your morning coffee, but maybe stick to one cup!) beforehand may help reduce bruising. Arnica may be used before and after treatment if desired, though it is not required.

You’re welcome to arrive makeup-free, though the skin will be thoroughly cleansed before treatment. Post-care instructions are provided after your appointment, and ice will be your best friend for the first couple days post treatment!

Post-care instructions are provided after your appointment verbally, as well as emailed to you. In general, we recommend:

  • Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for 24 hours
  • Avoid laying flat or pressure on treated areas for 4 hours
  • Avoid facial treatments, lasers, peels, or massage for 24 hours

These guidelines help reduce inflammation and support optimal healing.

Follow up appointments are not routinely required for PRF. However, we recommend pre-booking your second and third treatments to stay on schedule and achieve the best possible results from your treatment plan.

Some patients notice early improvement shortly after treatment, but PRF results continue to build gradually over time as collagen and elastin production increases.

Results typically continue to improve over several months. Many patients experience results lasting 12-18 months. Maintenance treatments of one to two sessions per year are often recommended after completing an initial series.
